The New York Times’ portrayal of Donald Trump’s election victory reeks of panic and desperation, painting a dystopian picture that would make George Orwell blush.

Fear-mongering at The Times
The New York Times has completely outdone itself this time. The nation’s “paper of record” has apparently forgotten what real objective reporting looks like in covering Donald Trump’s victory, opting instead for fear-mongering. It’s as if they were just jumping on the back of what Democrats, led by President Joe Biden, have said in recent months.
In describing Trump’s victory, The Times chose the ominous headline “Trump Storms Back,” as if his decisive election victory was a weather event. The subhead, though, only makes matters worse by describing his campaign as “dark and defiant.”
Painting Bad Pictures
The Times tried to paint bad pictures, too, by including visuals into its storytelling. Trump was portrayed against a dark background to emphasize a shadowy appearance. It wasn’t just a normal portrait of a man who’s about to become only the second person in history to win the White House in non-consecutive terms.
The paper went all out to bash Trump through other headlines such as “10 Takeaways From the Night Trump Marched Back to the White House” and “Pariah, Felon, President-Elect.” They apparently couldn’t be stopped.
Democracy’s New Clothes
The winner of the disgusting contest for worst headline, though, has to be “America Hires a Strongman.” Apparently, when a large majority of Americans all across the country send a mandate to politicians through a decisive victory like the one Trump enjoyed this week, they’re hiring a strongman instead of electing a representative.
The Times and other left-leaning media outlets spent plenty of time leading up to the election labeling Trump as an authoritarian and fascist in an apparent attempt to dissuade people from voting for him. That didn’t work, obviously.
Americans Have Spoken
The Times seemed shocked not just that Trump won the Electoral College vote over Democrat Kamala Harris but the popular vote, too. Yet, the liberal media continues to label Trump as a threat to democracy, even though it’s that same democratic system of government that is putting him back in the White House for a second term — with a resounding victory.
