Scientist Claims Popular Mouthwash Brand Linked to Cancer

An article published by Daily Mail United Kingdom may definitely be alarming to some readers. A scientist recently made the assertion that a popular mouthwash could be causing or heightening an individual’s risk of getting cancer. He issued a warning to people and advised against using it. A team of experts from the Tropical Medicine institute located in the Belgian city of Antwerp made findings that showed that a species of harmful bacteria became increased in prevalence after three months of daily mouthwash use.  The mouthwash, Listerine’s popular Cool Mint flavor, was the product tested. Studies showed that daily usage certainly could contribute to the development of colorectal and esophageal cancer. 

CNN reported that greater amounts of processed food consumption also contribute to higher risks for cancer in the digestive system or in related areas. Cancers like mouth, throat, and esophageal cancer were found to be increased in prevalence in the study. In 2019, a related report that 71% of American’s foods supplies are ultra-processed. 

Another company, called the Charles Boggini Company was forced to recall several soft drinks, or sodas, for containing undeclared chemicals (preservatives) that may impact people’s risk of getting cancer. One dye used in the drinks was undoubtedly linked to cancer in an assertion made in a statement by the FDA. The Charles Boggini company released the notice provided by the FDA without reservation but did not make any further comments about it. The Charles Boggini company distributes beverages in the states of New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arizona, Michigan, Illinois, and California. It appears that the soft drinks are provided in a bulk format in five gallon quantities, or in one gallon quantities. These are usually distributed in soda machines or fountain machines displayed over the counter at various restaurant establishments. Ultimately it appears like no food or substance is truly “safe” and it is quite concerning that cancer rates continue to rise everywhere.
