Donald Trump stopped a speech in Bozeman, Montana, to call for a doctor to help a person in the crowd. When medical help arrived, Mr. Trump praised them and said, “We love these people.” The incident happened just hours after his private plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Billings, Montana, making him more than 90 minutes late for his Bozeman campaign rally. A spokesperson said Trump’s jet had encountered “mechanical issues” but did not comment further.
During the wait, organizers played the Celine Dion hit featured in the 1997 Titanic movie. The Canadian singer called out the former President and made clear that she did not give permission for “My Heart Will Go On” to be played. A spokesperson for Ms. Dion mocked the choice of song, asking, “And really? THAT song?”
Many social media users similarly scoffed at a Titanic song choice, saying it is fitting because the former President’s campaign is sinking. “This is so on the nose to what’s happening with his campaign, the cognitive dissonance is astounding,” one person tweeted.
When Trump arrived on stage on Bozeman, he referred to the Vice President and her running mate, Governor Tim Walz, as “comrade Harris and comrade Walz.” He said if the Democrat duo are victorious in November, “pink-haired Marxists, the looters, the perverts, the flag burners” will celebrate the win.
The former President also notably accused the Vice President of seeking to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency – which her campaign denies. Trump also stated that Harris wants to take Americans’ guns away.
Senate GOP candidate Tim Sheehy joined Trump on stage, and they launched an attack on Democrat Senator Jon Tester. Mr. Trump focused on Tester’s weight – calling him “fat” – and his 2018 claim that Dr. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s White House physician, was known as “the candyman” because of his alleged willingness to distribute drugs freely.
Mr. Sheehy attacked his Senate opponent, saying he would push transgender-favorable policies, and praised Donald Trump for building “the strongest economy for a generation.”
