UK Home Secy. Warns Britain Will Be Asylum Capital of World With Labour

British Home Secretary James Cleverly said his country will become the “asylum capital of the world” if the left-wing Labour Party wins the general election on July 4. Cleverly, a member of the embattled Conservative Party, tweeted that people-smuggling gangs are rubbing their hands with glee in anticipation of a Labour victory, as evidence suggests thousands of illegal immigrants are eagerly waiting to cross the English Channel as soon as governance changes hands.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who has seen his polling figures collapse, said immigrants are lining up in France and no longer fear his deportation proposals, which Labour has said it will scrap. Mr. Sunak has been engaged in a lengthy legal battle over his plans to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda for processing. The Prime Minister told voters that Labour leader Sir. Keir Starmer has no plans or intentions to remove migrants from Britain.

Some migrants have admitted to reporters that Sunak’s claims are accurate, with one Iraqi stating that he will wait “until the new government has arrived” before sailing across the English Channel to land on a British beach.

In their first televised debate, both leaders pledged to tackle illegal migration, but Starmer appeared to concede that he had no concrete proposals in place. Instead, he described Sunak as “the most liberal Prime Minister we’ve ever had on immigration.”

The Conservative Party’s primary lines of attack against Labour are focused on immigration and taxation, with the Conservatives insisting that Labour will increase taxes and take revenue from state pension recipients for the first time. During the initial debate, Sunak reminded voters that UK inflation is down and his long-term economic policies are working.

Mr. Sunak also controversially stated that he would withdraw the UK from the European Convention of Human Rights if it continued to obstruct his deportation plans. The Labour leader said doing so would make the UK a pariah on the global stage.
